Bullying

Introduction – In this globalized era, bullying is a threatening behaviour where the person who bullies purposely causes uneasiness or harm to the victim (Norris, 2012) – In fact, there are several types of bullying, including physical, verbal and cyber that we should know (Monks & Coyne, 2011).

Body #1 – The first type of bullying is physical violence. This can take many forms such as pushing hitting, kicking or inappropriate touching and also stealing (Kuykendall, 2012) – Physical behaviours were more serious than verbal or indirect forms, a student identified as victimized feels traumatised (Mishna, 2012).

Body #2 – Next, verbal bulling is the most common form of bullying. This is where the victim is being humiliated with rude names or insulting comments (Kuykendall, 2012) – Verbal bullying also cuts beyond socio-economic, ethnic, cultural lines and disability (Council of Europe & Council for Cultural Co-operation, 1999).

Body #3 – Last but not least, cyberbullying is another type of bullying. This happens as a victim is harassed through the use of technology such as computers, smart phones, and other electronic devices, could even be abused, insulted or black mailed. There is no reprise from communications that are based on technology because they can be received at any time which makes it different from face-to-face bullying (Norris, 2012) – In reality, some youngsters record bullying incidents on smart phones and pass embarrassing photo images or videos around against the wishes of the subject for no other reason than to have a laugh (Lines, 2007).

Conclusion – In conclusion, bullying can be in many forms, including physical, verbal and cyber. The actions may be punching or putting others down – To tell the truth, we still have the same problems today such as what happened on a few days ago, in December 2016, Kenneth Suttner was horribly bullied which led him to commit suicide because he was “overweight” and “spoke with a speech impediment” (Andrews, 2017).
