Confessional research:
Perception on Chinese Restaurants
As I was
observing how the workers communicate with each other, I can see that most of
them usually shout at each other and use bad language to comment on each other’s
behaviour while working. My ears hurt and I was bothered the whole time being
there. They seem to be unwelcoming to customers since when it comes to
communicating with the customers, they always raise their voices and use very
high-pitched tone. Not to mention, the greasy clothes and terrible body odour. One
time as I wanted to complain about a strand of hair in my soup, the workers
responded to me with a disgust face and annoyed tone. When it comes to serving
the customers, they do not practice proper hygiene as they keep long nails
while preparing the food making it look disgusting and I completely lost my
appetite after that.
As I was
desperate to use the toilet, I came across a number of gross rodents. I’ve never
even seen most of them because they’re just too weird-looking. I can even see
one of the workers noticing one of the rodents that passed by in front of them
but they chose to ignore it. I guess they are used to all these rodents being
all over the restaurant that just shows how dirty the restaurant is. I couldn’t
finish up my food there after seeing their mouldy kitchen. Even passing by it,
I can sniff a very unpleasant smell. The moment I reach the toilet it really reeks
of urine and faeces.
